Discovery Notes | The soil collected was dry and the soil particles were very small and looked soft. The color was dark brown throughout. I do not see any other colors. The soil was collected about two inches below the surface. Here, the soil had the least amount of sticks and rocks and was the softest. When the soil sample was collected, the skies were clear, and the sun was out. It felt very hot and the temperature was about 91 degrees Fahrenheit outside. |
Naming Notes | The name we chose for our selected phage includes each lab partner's initials and the number given to our phage. We worked with two phages throughout the semester and decided to submit phage 1. |

Plaque Notes | Plaque was easily visible in the 10^-3 dilution plate. The plaque chosen on the plate was circled in blue and was clearly opaque, or see through, but has no visible margins. There is an obvious, clear center and an outer layer that is visibly foggier. The overall shape of the plaque is circular and small. |
