Discovery NotesThis phage was found in moist, south-facing soil near a large tree and a creek leading to a marsh. This area is host to many Canadian geese during the winter. The hole was seven centimeters deep, and the air was 22 degrees Celsius.
Naming NotesMaryam is the last name of a character in a webcomic who has a moth for a mother. Due to the relationship between Bacillus thuringiensis subs. Kurstaki and gypsy moths, I thought this would be an appropriate name.
