Discovery NotesThe soil sample collected was collected from Willowmere Park on August 22nd, 2015 at time 1205 in Stafford, Virginia; The GPS coordinates were as follows: 38.467861°N, 77.542339°W. The weather conditions that day were fairly mild, with an ambient temperature of 62.4 °F with the humidity at 91%. The sample itself was collected in a rural area in close proximity to moderate foot traffic, but far away from human industrialization. The terrain around the sample site was fairly flat, and the site itself frequently came into contact with flora and fauna native to Virginia. The sample itself was a dark shade of red, and could be described as dense and moist. Because of the apparent abundance of organic material in the soil (characterized by its denseness and moistness), a large amount of plaques were suspected to come from the sample.
