Discovery NotesSMAK3 was isolated from a soil sample from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) campus in Baltimore, Maryland at 10:10 AM on September 19, 2016. The soil was captured at the edge of a “no mow zone” on the southeastern edge of parking lot 1 at Park Road. There was some cloud cover at the time of collection, with the temperature being 27.8`C, in addition to rainy and humid conditions resulting from rainfall the previous night. It follows that the soil sample was very moist and although the sample was collected at the edge of parking lot 1, there was a variety of plant life nearby.
Naming NotesTaken from the initials of each hunter.
