Discovery Notes | This phage was isolated on a Bacillus strain that our lab calls P560, however, I do not know the exact species. It was isolated using techniques from SEAPhages, as well as protocols from the Center for Phage Technology at Texas A&M University. I had sequencing performed on the phage DNA and blasted it in this database and found no matches, indicating it is a novel phage. |
Naming Notes | The phage is named for the soil it was isolated from, Pickle, found on J.J. Pickle Research Campus at UT Austin, and the Bac comes from the Bacillus. |
